The rare Freshwater Pom Pom Crab is named for its unique pom-pom-like claws. Their shells appear to glow with yellow or tan colors, black or brown designs, and a texture like smooth polish.
Unlike hermit crabs, these are fully aquatic and must live in an aquarium or vivarium. An internal or external pump, a heater, and a filter are needed (a canister and bio sponge filter is ideal).
Supplement with extra assorted foods such as dry flakes or pellet foods, wafers and treats, calcium treatment, etc.
These crabs seek hiding places to feel safe, such as an aquatic plant, decoration, or some sort of enclosure with an opening, like a cave or pipe. They go great with Spongebob Crusty Crab décor!
